Creative Media Group Launches Multilingual
Web Site Solutions
Salt Lake City, Utah (November 27, 2001) – E-commerce presents
a global business opportunity for companies of all sizes, but not
every nation speaks the same language. In a market where communication
is critical, Creative Media Group, Inc. (CMG) has developed a cost-effective
solution for turning single-language Web sites into multilingual
sales opportunities.
To produce this language-switching function, CMG developed online
tools for use by translators and a database engine that delivers
the desired language to each Web page. This system allows CMG to
separate the actual text from the Web page layout so that translation,
proofing and page design could be done independently. In addition,
the design allows non-programming staff at CMG's clients to edit
the Web pages and further refine the syntax to reflect local dialects
and usage.
When CMG's parent company, AlphaGraphics, Inc., the franchisor
of print shops worldwide, needed its franchisees' Web sites to offer
both native language and English language versions, CMG designed
the sites with a feature that allows users to click on a button
on any page to switch instantly between the two languages. These
sites were recently introduced in 15 countries. Sample multilingual
AlphaGraphics sites:
Brazil – http://br010.br.alphagraphics.com/
Russia – http://ru007.ru.alphagraphics.com/
Indonesia – http://id002.id.alphagraphics.com/
CMG is now launching a marketing effort to bring its language translation
product to the attention of international corporations. Robert Stoeber,
president of CMG, states, "There really hasn't been a good
dynamic solution to multilingual Web sites until now. To reach an
international audience, they've essentially had to create multiple
Web sites, one in each language, and this has always been an expensive
and static way to go about it." CMG's solution offers a more
affordable and innovative way to overcome the drawbacks of traditional
multilingual sites.
