Creative Media Group was founded in 1981 to develop interactive
tutorials, disk-based documentation and other support
materials for the original IBM PC. Exploring the IBM PC was
distributed with millions of IBM's computers, as were similar
diskettes to support products from Dell, Microsoft, Compaq, AT&T,
and others.
In the late 80's CMG began producing custom marketing applications
using diskettes and CD-ROMs as the delivery medium. Working
with some of the largest corporations and advertising agencies
CMG helped pioneer computerized advertising, promoting such products
as credit cards and cholesterol reducing drugs. In the publishing
industry CMG worked with several publishers to develop viable
subscription and advertising strategies for online magazines.
Looking for a global printing partner to produce materials from
some large publishing sites, CMG turned to AlphaGraphics Inc., a
worldwide franchise organization with 360 AlphaGraphics
PrintShops of the FutureŽ in 22 countries. Working together
CMG and AlphaGraphics have developed document management systems
with online ordering capabilities that allow large companies to
standardize and manage their printing needs worldwide.
CMG and AlphaGraphics formally merged in 1998 to provide integrated
services to their respective customers. In addition,
CMG today operates the most extensive intranet system in any
franchise organization; providing a high level of support to all
AlphaGraphics owners, employees, and their customers worldwide.
Some of the components of this intranet (known as AlphaLink) have
been standardized and are being offered for sale under an ASP model.
